The mirrored word closes around the wrist as a cuff in 18k yellow gold, crowned with a natural heart-cut red garnet from Tanzania of 2.38 carats — the heart where the two loves meet — and set with eight round diamonds, four to each love.

Hubbayn — حُبَّيْن — two loves. One word — حب — written twice in Thuluth, each reflected perfectly upon the other. Neither love comes first; neither exists alone. The name comes from the celebrated verse of Rabi'a al-'Adawiyya, the eighth-century poet of love: أحبك حبين، حب الهوى وحبًا لأنك أهل لذاكا I love you with two loves — the love of longing, and a love because you are worthy of it. The mirrored composition is that verse made visible: two loves, facing each other, held in one word. Thuluth — the most exalted of the Arabic scripts — was chosen for a love that is elevated, held, and returned. Written by hand by MHMD ISSAM. One composition; this piece carries it as a cuff, crowned with a natural heart-cut garnet and set with eight diamonds — the two loves meeting at the heart.
